RIDING ACADEMY & SPORT HORSE DEVELOPMENT
As a premiere riding academy serving the mid-atlantic region, we welcome riders of all levels and ages. We focus in horsemanship development that includes all aspects of equine care and safety. We offer unparalleled access to a horsemanship program that grows with you, according to your goals. From lessons to horse ownership to sport horse development, competition, and showing. Horse training, clinics, and special events offered as noted on our site and social media.

Bronze Level
Exploring and gaining an understanding of the horse and riding. 4 mounted and 2 (30 min) unmounted lessons per month.
Silver Level
Commitment to growth in skill, knowledge and capability. 8 mounted and 4 (30 min) unmounted lessons plus custom assessments for horse and rider twice per year. Horse lease/ownership suggested.
Gold Level
This is your sport and you want to progress. 12 mounted lessons and 4 (30 min) unmounted lessons. Performance curriculum and custom assessments performed every quarter. Horse lease/ownership required.

Founded by a dynamic mother-daughter duo… Kayla and Karen Root, We bring passion, experience, and top notch resources to serve North Carolina, and surrounding communities.
Together, they blend diverse experiences, animal expertise, compassion, and a shared passion for nurturing both horse and human potential. We believe every ride is an opportunity for growth, learning, and connection—transforming lives one lesson at a time.
Creators of a unique approach to equestrian and horsemanship education to build skills, knowledge and capabilities. Utilizing color coded socks as karate uses belts to designate specific knowledge, skills, and capabilities that are tested through testing, demonstration and in-the-saddle execution. Clarity of progression and development in a way that clarifies the progression and development of each rider.
